Patterson Construction Internships

Patterson Homes is committed to the education and job skill development of our young people. As such we offer construction related internships to local High Schools and College students who have a sincere interest in the construction related industry.

Patterson Construction assists students and young people by:

1. Providing internships and training - on almost every level of construction - for young men and young women. Patterson Construction has the following construction internships available. Students may choose any one or combination of internships as well as lengths of internships:
   • Sales & Marketing Internship
   • Land Development Internship
   • Superintendant Internship
   • Subcontractor/supplier Internships - includes most any trades or venders
   • Professional Internships - includes lending, title, appraisals, accounting, etc.
   • Rentals & Rental Managing Internship
2. A Representative of Patterson Homes being a guest lecturer:
   • Explaining job opportunities in building/construction industry with industry trends
   • Explaining summer and winter Internships offered through Patterson Construction
   • Explaining about the Patterson Construction Scholarship (attached)
   • Entrepreneur skills - This is on decision making w/an emphasis on awareness and controlling buyer-customer-employee-subs-supplier's expectations. (We've given this lecture to business leaders/owners and to business schools in the past). It's great for anyone who will be in a leadership/decision making position.
   • Lecture on the how-to's of buying a home.
3. Fulfilling the Patterson Construction Education Mission Statement:
   To provide continued educational opportunities for meaningful careers and employment in the building industry. While most schools offer academic, athletic and other scholarships, few offer scholarships and internships in the trades and building industry. Without such, many young people are left without direction and funds in an industry which enjoy some of the highest paid jobs and which maintains extremely high job security in an uncertain employment market. Patterson Construction firmly believes continuing education and apprentice programs insure qualified individuals in the building industry/trades for years to come while providing meaningful and valuable service to our economy and communities.
